Before i start, I wish a very Happy Deepavali to all those celebrating it!

Anyway, yesterday while cycling my brother suffered his first major fall (he fell twice before, although less serious)while negotiating a roundabout at high speed. He's badly injured; his entire left side of the body is full of abrasions and cuts and bruises. But his accident was just one of the events for this eventful ride. Here's how..

Reenactment of yesterday:

My brother's front wheel feel like it was losing pressure, so we decided not to go any further though we were quite far already and so we turned back. Then soon his tyre was losing more air, and he said he didn't want to ride it anymore. Being the good and caring brother, we swapped bikes and i rode his bike. Before his tyre entirely gave up, i hurried along with his bike, so to cover more distance before it was entirely unrideable. then i reached the school bus stop(my targeted checkpoint) and coincidentally the tyre flattened entirely. So i rested there and expected my brother to catch up with me in say, 10 seconds bcos he wasnt very far away. I waited and waited and he NEVER came. I guessed something had happened and so i quickly rode back to see him pushing his bike from afar. Oh shit, I thought. My worst fears are about to be founded.
Upon reaching him, i see him half bloodied and with that petrified face, one that was clearly shaken by the accident. And he was wearing my sunglasses at that point of time. The left side of the lens has 3 BIG scratches. The 1st thing he told me was ' kor, i scratched your specs', but how could i bring myself to scold him at that point??
My bike suffered as well, the brake hood shifted, the bar tape torn and the front tyre punctured. A crash that can cause a tyre to puncture..now's thats a hell of a crash. I asked him how fast he was going, he said 40kph.
I know how he crashed. There's this slope, super super steep slope, i think it climbs 5m in height in 5m. So he decended it and right after the slope is a roundabout which, if one dont brake, will have to take it at full speed. But he said he also ran into sand and lost control.
Sand, cornering, full speed, anyhow-ness(luan lai). This is really a recipe for disaster.

In better times, on saturday

That's me, on my still ok bike on saturday too
Treatment time!
Head and shoulders!
Breast, hips and thighs all have abrasions
knees and shins

But the worst was his elbow, 2 area of cuts with one deep enough to say yuks!

So he went home the biggest loser, and he kept lamenting that he's a loser and how come he's the one always falling, not me! I told him im good at piloting my bike=D Then Im afraid after this he wants to quit cycling, but he's just afraid my parents wouldnt let him cycle anymore. That's the way bro, the fighting spirit! Losers are those who give up!
