Huge itinerary for today. And end of the day this is how it unrolled. Resorts World>Universal studio>Vivocity>Esplanade>Double Helix Bridge>Marina Bay Sands.
With more transport means plying into Sentosa, we didnt know the best way to get to our 1st destination: Universal Studios, so we just default-ly walked towards the MRT station. When I suggested taking bus service 188 from the bus stop infront of our block, my bro suddenly said there's a special variant of this bus service, 188R, that goes right into the doorstep of Resorts World. 早说啦! And right to the doorstep did they bring us, dropping us off infront of the casino. Simply amazing. Door to door on public transport. You wont even have such luck with lottery.

Once there, we soaked up the atmosphere before proceeding to buy the tickets. Then we saw it on a board: Universal Studio Tickets SOLD OUT. I was disappointed but not surprised. Aunt still cant take in the news though, "how can tickets get so sold out so early?", "even Disneyland keep selling tickets thoughout the day."

Savaging whatever there's left, they went to the gift shops, and later bought food from Hersey and Chicago Popcorns. We then went to check out Festive Hotel, Hardrock Hotel before leaving the island by Sentosa Express straight into Vivocity.

Lunch at Earle Swenson's. They put an Earle infront of the name, make it sound more high class, and they charge relatively higher prices for their food. Then it's 1 hour of shopping for the ladies, and 1 hour of torture/boredom for me.

Then it's off to..argh let the photos tell you

This ball itself is an attraction
Genting must be too cheap a place for all these rich malaysians
Fisherman's Catch @ Swenson's
Walked from City Hall MRT to Esplanade to Double Helix to MBS. Walked back the same way after we realised road closure=no bus. Someone spare my legs.
No USS tickets was pitiful but they still managed to catch glimpses of the NDP rehearsal throughtout the whole late afternoon/early evening. Marching soldiers, high revving tanks, afterburning fighter jets, fireworks. Not too bad, isnt it?(for them who'd never seen it b4)

Dinner at Mayim in Westmall. Chinese Cuisine is still the best after all the steaks, popcorn, icecream and choclates. Ramen with beef + Jiaozi + Wanton. Perfecto!

Got home, bathe, see South Korea get kicked out of the WC, then collaspe into bed.

Grandma, aunt, cousin and her friend are in singapore for a short holiday. 8am from KL they took the coach here. 1pm I went to Novena Square to fetch them.
Lunch at home. Bought them to IMM followed by Jurong Point. Im leaving them to go Orchard all by themselves. I cant stand this tour de shopping for any longer.

Hokkaido Ice Cream at IMM. For all the time I've been to IMM, we've never really taken notice of this ice cream shop, primarily because this is just too high class for us. But with our ultra generous & happy-go-lucky aunt around, this type of shop is reduced to teatime! And that's just what it was, bro and I sharing a double scoop.
It wasnt exactly a scoop, because they had to purposely pull the scoop until the sticky icecream peaks at the top(see below). Weird japanese ways I guess, done by 2 chinese nationals. Ironic

Aunt suggested Korean food, and we found out there's this Korean restaurant nestled in Feast food court, so we ate there. Bibimbap, bbq meat, kimchis costed SGD170 in total. Gosh bloody korean food..

In BBQs you always need a leader, one who really barbeques the food until her face burns, her hands sore, and not stop until everyone is full or the food supply is finished. Tonight we were fortunate to have my cousin to offer her services.

I dont really know the name of that dish we call korean prata, but it tastes damn good.

Term break - spent 5 days in malaysia; eating, cycling, shopping, and watching FREE world cup on either TV1 or indo channel. That should be the way, allowing the masses to watch the world cup for free. Even Astro offers the world cup free for current subscribers. Singapore need to learn a thing or two from malaysia.

On monday my photography skills were needed by my cousin who runs a vegetarian eatery. He needs to do a major revamp/update to his menus. I told him 'you need to get a pro to really deceive people into eating ur food'. But as humble as vegetarians gets, he just wants something nicer than his digicam-conceived menus. Initially with the 1st few dishes I was alil scared and uncomfortable, afraid i'll screw up, then as more dishes came, I took more photos and soon I settled into a nice rhythm. About one hour on, we're still at it! The dishes just keep coming. And not long later I was feeling tired already. It's alot of concentration to do. It's the 1st time I actually get tired from taking photographs. Later at home I counted 47 dishes. Some were customers' orders and the rest were specially whipped up for the shoot. And I was wondering if just taking photos of the food was tiring, what about the cook himself?

Not sure if this dish is called Shark's Fin..

This dish is called Peking Duck

Yup, you see it right. This is mai pian xia, or oatmeal prawns

Sambal Fish

As you can see, all their food are actually fake meat, all in the ultra versatile form of flour. They make everything look different and varied, but there's not much difference in taste. Im not sure why they do this, creating fake beef, fake prawns. A vegetarian shouldnt be even thinking about meat.

But I love a vegetarian meal. Because it doesnt not have bones! I hate anything with bones, im not a dog! That's why, dory fish fillet, chicken breast meat, burgers & fries are all my favourites.

Bedok Interchange Food Centre

I fetched my mom to bedok today, she needs to get some medicine at KCS Medical for my very young cousin, who's in KL but came to bedok to visit this supposedly famous doctor. Now once in a while, my mom has to travel all the way to bedok, collect the pills, and mail it to KL in an icebox. Part of the medication needs to be kept refrigerated. Troublesome.

Bedok is huge and littered with good food all over, and a quick search over the net showed Bedok Interchange Food Centre to not only be stall-aplenty, it has the same amount of recommendable food to match as well. We ordered 4 dishes and sat at a corner of the centre. Finished eating, I suggested going to the other corner of the centre, where we further ordered 2 more dishes.
When we left, I had a problem. I still haven't tried alot more other stalls and their wonderful specialty. They call this a happy problem, like how a football manager has a selection problem when he has a full strength squad. I will never get this happy problem in the Bukit Batok hawker centre I frequent, though I'll still have a selection problem; which stall offers the least distasty food.
I need to go to Bedok again

Yesterday on the way back from Changi, we were talking about the world cup. We were talking about that night's game. Then we were talking about match betting. Next thing we know, we all placed $5 bets on a Japan victory, with returns of $3.65/dollar. And because of that, this match has become of much significance to us, so 10pm we ended up at a kopitiam near Kenny's place to catch it live.
Well we dint have to wait long, Japan scored in the 39th min. Boy, did we celebrate! We celebrated like we really meant it. Like as though we were die-hard blue samurai fans. Just that we dont share the same intention. Like what one gamble addict said, 'we support the team that can give us money.' So 1st match betted, 1st winnings. Way to go.

My 2 MST papers are over yesterday, but there was a telephone role play assessment today. As usual, I didnt fare well for these mouth-friendly or language shit. I dont fare well, and dont need to, in every 2-credit modules since year1 sem1. Come monday I'll sit for a different type of paper. It's an aviation paper held in somewhere Changi and I have 7 books from the library to aid me in clearing the 75mark passing grade. Time to enjoy my holiday.

Last Saturday at Hwa Mui cafe. Food is not bad, but we always have to wait like forever for the food. And for the keen-eyed, the woman right smacked in the middle is lighting up a butt. Welcome to malaysia.

The reason why we have dumplings; to save this dead man from being eaten up by fishes. LOL

Bike gangs are always cool. This is the Johor Bikers.

The mixed angmoh-malay, who rides this, is supposedly related to royalty.

Sutera Mall are hosting more exciting and way overdue events and before the Food & Culture Exhibition this sat which im gona go, we attended the Bugfest Malaysia 2010 held last Saturday.

It is the only event where you'll see more iconic Volkswagen beetles than you'll ever see in your life.

No matter what fast car one man drives, he will always want a softer ride. If batman ever wanted a change from his hardcore Batmobile, here it is.

I didnt know something was amiss, until my dad pointed out the 48 instead of 53

The classic wheel

Just how old is this Scirocco??

When you crossbreed one of the largest cars with one of the smallest, and one of the most expensive with one of the cheapest, you get a Beetleroyce. AKA Zhubajie.

All photos were taken by my dad's left-to-rot but new E72 which I've gradually claimed as mine.

Taken during our Human Factor debate session. Im also debuting my new Tour de France 3/4 top in support for july's biggest cycling race!

Mid-term tests are coming next week! All other non mst-involved modules are also having their own assessements this week. For Communication Skills for Workplace(CSW) alone monday we did a letter and next wed we are going to have a telephone role-play. Letter-writing and engineers? Gosh, these language modules are always a pain in the ass.
Even today's debate, we were all 'thanking' and 'i'll pass on to 'so-&-so-of-opposition-team'. It sounds more like we're having a friendly meeting than a debate. And everyone on the floor was sleeping. Luckily Im smart enough to collaborate with another group's Cheng Hwee; he gives me a qns and vice versa, so both of us gets our bonus 5% for Q&A, just like that!
Stressful week ahead..
