It has been a long holiday for me, in terms of company. One of my cousins came to stay with us for 2 weeks, then we went up to KL for a week. Our ber-chek and grandma then came down together with us to stay for 5 days. Too much food, too much aimless window-shopping and too little exercise.

The highlight of the holidays have to be the trip up KL. Our programme was filled to the brim with great food and plenty of shopping, and with it quality time with all our cousins.( Unlike Singaporeans who see their cousins week in week out, I see them, like what, twice a year?) Maybe I rarely go to KL, but I love the capital of Malaysia. The busyness and chaos typical of a big capital, the atmosphere, the people, and the short car number plates( ALOT of rich people in KL) all adds up to the hype.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention this, I drove all the way to Kuala Lumpur! All 330km of it! Mum had insomnia for 3 nights prior to the day we were driving up, so as the responsible mom she is, she had no choice to let me drive. She said if I couldnt drive she would have cancelled the trip. Fast forward: the return trip was exactly the same story. She had insomnia for the entire 5 nights( she has trouble sleeping in other beds/surrounding) and luckily I can drive otherwise she would have cut short the trip. So whoa-la, over 700km of North-South Expressway driving. I must say that 700km have improved every aspect of my driving. I mean, the constant checking of all mirrors, the everlasting force needed on the accelerator(super strenuous on knee), and the pressure of changing lanes with cars on the right all flying. Now I feel PIE & AYE aint scaring balls anymore man!

DAY1, Dec22:
We reached aunt's place at ard 2pm and slacked around, take in all the KL air. At this point my neck was damn sore, must be the driving. Aunt then calls our KL captain, ShuHua(SHUZ) to come ard and drive us to her house whr we always stay when we come. You know, what really amuses me is that, whenever we all first meet after not seeing each other for so long, there's this awkward atmosphere. Like you have so much to say, but just cant say it all out at once. This happens everytime. Then slowly but surely, we start talking, start warming up to one another and then its like though we never been apart before at all. You cant seem to acheive this with a long forgotten and never-again-contacted friend. You'll just feel the time away is too long, and this friendship cant return to its old self anymore. Well, like the saying goes, blood is thicker than water. So come night, the awkardness is long gone and all the voices come out.

This is Captain SHUZ, our tour guide, driver, leader, etc. No her, no KL to enjoy.

DAY2:
Last night the voice of Captain SHUZ suggested Genting today, so chomp chomp here we are, all set and ready for Genting. From 1Utama(damn near our house): a 2way bus trip to skyway, cable car ride, outdoor themepark ticket OR lunch buffet costs RM35. Weather was bad up in Genting, and most rides were closed, so we opted for the international buffet spread. Cheap and a worth-it lunch, considering the entire package. Traditional seafood treat by uncle was planned for dinner, a bad timing with our super heavy lunch still being felt, but heck, its seafood! Seafood is always a big deal, and this dinner was an even bigger deal! For a change, Uncle ordered meehoon lobsters and RM15 a piece clams(unsure), instead of crabs. Holy shit, maybe its placebo, but the meehoon is the best meehoon I've ever eaten and the clams are fantastic. Bill? RM1.1k

This is as close an experience going to heaven.
Why did god create starbucks? How is starbuck coffee different from kopi-o?

No way they were opening the rides in this weather.

Fried tofu

Steamed prawns are the best way to eat it.

This action is actually for my sister, who is unfortunately in belgium and yet again miss out on treats! Expensive lobster in my mouth, Jie!

Every meehoon has its day. This bundle of meehoon found an expensive home be in. Why is the other table all looking here?

Steamed Scottish Bamboo Clam With Garlic. Rm15 for one. Yummy but expensive!

Youngster-hating pork dish.

Dec24, Christmas Eve.
Lunch at BAR.B.Q PLAZA. You grill your own meat or whatever you order. I love this restaurant, wayy better than the overrated Seoul Garden. After that we watched Avatar. 7 of us, 7 seperate seats. Aunty had a Christmas party at her place, everyone gathered, ate, made up on lost time and had durian cake for dessert. We hanged ard until about 10pm, then we headed off to the Curve, or Mutiara Damasara as it is more popularly known(countdown parties always held there). We purchased aerosol foam once we reached there, thats our sole objective, and proceeded to e@Curve where hundreds of revellers have already gathered. Many couldnt resist the temptation and was already spraying at friends and passing strangers as well. We sprayed mostly at one another and after our 2 bottles exhausted, we left.
Meat the way I like it: boneless and fatless.
Swiss-based aunt gave us Rm100 each to spend, and this is our way of saying thanks.
Revellers at the Christmas countdown party.
Some guys behind trying a sneak attack.
Dec25, Christmas Day
Our food-hunter uncle brought us to Klang to have Assam fish for lunch. The fish was very fresh and the assam was in a class of its own. Not a wasted journey to Klang. Went to Mid-valley Megamall after lunch. Super crowded. 6pm+ uncle came to pick us up and delivered us to Petaling Street. Uncle recommended a restaurant famous for its Pearl Noodles, or widely known as lok chi fan. Again he wasnt wrong, the noodles were made to perfection. Shop, walk, drink then uncle fetched us home.

Dec26
LRT to Times Square where I bought my very first Starbucks, all Rm13.15 of it. A coffee that can alternatively get me 3 bowls of my favourite dry mee dish, I couldnt bare to finish it. Walked to Sungei Wang, shop shop, then find another uncle to have lunch. Dinner at Puchong, at this steamboat restaurant. Everyone has his own individual pot and he has total control over the boiling. The sauce, like BAR.B.Q PLAZA was something like satay sauce but with a special concoction. The sauce was the reason why the food taste so good.
A table to fit all 18 of us in.

Monday, December 7 @ 4:18 PM
This week is MST(Mid Semester Week), and I have 5 papers for this 5 days. The 1st paper today, Aircraft Powerplants, is over! No cycling this week, everyday chiong revision.

Last saturday @ dimsum restaurant.

Yesterday, Aunt and cousin came to Singapore. Aunt came to check on her work market and will be leaving tomorrow, while my cousin will stay with us until we go to KL near Christmas.

Dinner at Ichiban Jurong Point.
