Its one week I've spent holidaying in europe already! So far we have travelled London, Geneva and today, for an extremely brief period, to France. So how's my experience so far? In a guai-lou land of europe, the people are kind and courteous. Their way of life is totally different from us. I say we asians stress out ourselves too much! You see adults skiing every single day. Surely they have work to do too right? The key is they know how to relax. Over here in geneva everything's about honesty. You buy ur own bus ticket and just board the bus. Or you can just board the bus without purchasing a ticket. No inspector, no card reader, nothing. Try this system with msia or sg, and im sure the transport company will fold in days.
Like I said, in a guai-lou land where the currency is less favourable, unless you are super rich like many of the asians(PRC) who live and study here, if you wanna tour europe, you have to do it backpackers style. Live cheap, eat cheap but experience just as much. Like the 1st 2 days of london, my sist bought bread and chicken ham and that was our food for 2 full days. I couldnt take it anymore, so I complained. And now my aunt here and back in msia all thinks I cant adapt, I need my mommy, Im more suited to the rich travelling lifestyle and whatnot.
But, as a diplomatic kid, I take everything in my stride and never bear grudges. Get angry and you lose the game. Hell no you're making me angry. Not so easy! But they like to make me their bombing topic. Mayb im just too likeable=D.

This is a brief round-up of what we did so far:

Saturday 6 march
Stonehenge(UNESCO) - just took some photos from afar. it wasnt open when we went there early and we also thought it was a waste of money to pay and get in to see some stones which we can see from outside just as clearly.
Salisbury town - many towns and villages in london or england has park n ride system(bus), which we took, to discourage driving into the towns.
Salisbury Cathedral - huge and beautiful medieval cathedral.
Arrive at Wolverhampton
Watch the Manchester United vs Wolves EPL match live in the molineux! - got to see all the man utd stars in the flesh! too bad rooney wasnt playing.
Night out at Warrington Travelodge.

Sunday 7 march
Man Utd Stadium tour! We toured Old Trafford, largest stadium in UK. We also went in players changing room, lounge, and even walked out to the pitch like how the players walk out.
Stow on a Wold historic village
Bichester Village - a popular branded outlet street where brands like Gucci, Ralph Lauren sell cheap cheap.
Take tube to Euston Travelodge. I had to pull and CARRY our 28kg check-in luggage if we were on the move. Whenever I see the flight of stairs at the tube station, my face will just drop.

Thursday 11 march
Cereal/yogurt for breakfast - we have this for breakfast everyday in geneva. maybe add in a banana too.
Train to Geneva Central
Inter-city train to Zurich (3 hours)
Zurich: Lake Zurich & some churches. Zurich is a boring place, really.
Bern: Bern bear, clock tower, walking around the streets.
Interlaken: Stay @ Lazy Backpackers Hotel Falken. Its a cheap hostel where we just needed to put a night before heading to the top of Europe. The pillow provided is one of a kind. Its soo big and lousy I had to fold it into half b4 it became a proper pillow.

Friday 12 march
Free hotel breakfast
Train to Bernice Oberland
then all the way up to Jungfraujoch!
Jungfraujoch(UNESCO): sphinx platform(vantage view of swiss Alps), Ice palace, Plateau. Its -14.4c up there, but because its windstill, it was actually quite warm. Its the wind that makes you cooldddd.
Walk around Lauterbrunnen(800m deep valley), where we played with snow, snow ball fights and all.
Train back to Geneva via Bern.
These 2 days out on the road had been taxing mainly because of the travelling. Its just train, train and more train, but thankfully the trains come very very precisely. Swiss precision eh.

Saturday 13 march
Same breakfast menu
Lunch at a restaurant beside Lake Geneva
Shopping for food
Carrefour at France
Home. Slack and rest for today because of yesterday's tiring day and tomorrow's skiing day!!
That's right, this is probably the highlight of the trip. Esp after the winter olympics, I just wanna go out and kick up some snow dust! But I'll probably fail miserably on my 1st try.

Ok time for dinner. Better be on the table ON TIME. This aunt of mine is very particular with timing. Maybe living in Switzerland instiled some swiss precision in her. According to her planning, if you're late, you're dead.
Shall blog tmr after skiing if I have the time, or in Leuven, Belgium when I go to my sister's home. Ciao!
