Today is truly an epic day, in terms of outdoing myself and enjoying a day out with friends. I outran myself in the Nike City 10K Run and after that we embarked on a food and play trip, starting with prawning at Bishan and ending with a proper dinner at Chomp Chomp.

Exactly 2 weeks after an already epic ride up Cameron highlands, today offered to be a sporting day as epic as can be.
The day started at 0530 and ended 2035. First and the main event of the day was the Nike Run. A bit of car parking research showed that The Adelphi offered the cheapest parking in the area, at a fixed rate of $2.10 per entry. So that was where we parked, all 2 cars of us. After reading news about a participation of 12,000, I was afraid parking will be a stressful affair, but the car park wasn't even open when I reached there 2 minutes before the opening time of 6am. There wasn't even a ghost of a car waiting outside too. People love their MRT, I guess.

The race just had way too many people, so much to the point it is past the point of intimidation. It's a mass run, not a race. But besides that, I ran 9 out of 10km with a surprising & rare double stitch, and it was disappointing thinking that I could have soo easily better the 55+ mins timing without that mysterious pain.

Prawning for 3 hours in Bishan was fun! I was the leading prawnman with 8 prawns caught! Jesper wanted to challenge me, and he was actually leading me in the 1st hour, but longer the game/race/fight goes, the better I get. I caught on with the jerk/flick motion immediately after the bite and then its pull pull pull after that technique. Jesper's missing the jerk move in his game and maybe that is why he got 5 bites consecutively without a catch. FAIL. But overall fishing is seriously a patience sport, and I think it suits me just fine.

Chomp Chomp Food Hawker was next. black & white chai dao kueh, ikan bakar, chicken wings, satay, hokkien mee, porridge. We really feasted out and it was a truly fitting end to a beautiful sunday.

My bed I wanna make love with you now!
